For those who enjoy the performing arts, Gainesville has much to offer. There are several local theatre, dance, and music organizations that feature frequent performances in a variety of locations. The University of Florida Center for the Performing Arts is home to several local performance groups and also hosts Broadway touring companies, opera, symphony orchestras and nationally-known performers. In addition, there is the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre, which features a wide variety of creative productions, and the Hippodrome State Theater, one of North Florida's only professional regional theatres.
